Jets N Props was formed in 2001, as a place to display my aviation photos. 

 

I started taking plane photos many years ago, but I only did so on a limited basis. Most of my photography took place at airshows, with an occasional trip to a PHL for commercial aviation photography.  In 2001, I decided to put my photos on a small site I created on Yahoo, and jets-n-props was born.  It was a small site, and it was not terribly sophsticated, but it was a nice place to display my photos.

         At the time I started my web site I had just started traveling around to different airports to photograph a larger variety of plane types & liveries. Three or four years ago, I was introduced to the wonder of the Yahoo spotters groups; specifically the Wash/Balt Spotters Group, and later the PHL Spotters Group (this group is no longer on Yahoo).  From there my hobby took off, as I began traveling to the different airports on a more regular basis.  And more trips meant more photos, and this meant that I had outgrown my site on Yahoo.  I did a lot of research, and finally found a great photo gallery program, and that resulted in the new & improved jets-n-props that you see today.
